Photographic Styles
With over 30 years of experience in both film and digital photography, I have developed a style that can best be described as a combination of "fine art" and "photojournalism".
Using available light and strobes when necessary, I work to avoid making my images look posed or staged. Nothing tells a story more than capturing the displays of joy, happiness, love, and tenderness than working in the background and staying out of the way of your event.
Also, modern digital photography has added a new dimension to portrait and event photography: It allows the person being photographed to immediately approve or reject the image being captured. When posing for an image is appropriate or required, I will work the subject person or group to make them feel comfortable to create an image that's appealing to the people in the frame.
Philosophy
To me, photography is more than just capturing an image.
It's capturing a story.
In every frame, I work to capture a mood, a reaction, an emotion, a memory.
